Most of us are content with one or two top turns on a wave. We wait, we scramble, we jockey for waves, and if we’re lucky, we get one quality wave and one great turn that has us ready to wake up early and do it again the next day.

But what about 46? That’s the world record Dylan Graves just set on the Kampar River, specifically surfing a wave known as the Bono “7 Ghosts”. Graves has been eyeing this tidal bore wave since 2011, when the Rip Curl Search went there, and 12 years later, he managed to sneak in a real leg burner. The wave was surfed in 2023, and Guinness World Records has now confirmed the world record for “Most top turns/carves on a single wave”.
